Drop Ceiling Speakers take up virtually no space and are excellent for 70 volt commercial audio sound systems. With 70v commercial audio systems you can connect countless speakers in parallel and thus distribute music and voice audio to multiple locations, which is perfect for offices, department stores, and many medical buildings. Hence, drop ceiling speakers are perfect for these applications, because most of these buildings have drop ceilings.

To function in a 70v system, the drop ceiling speakers must have in line transformers mounted on them to be used. The transformers have wattage taps on them that dictates the wattage (or how loud) that each speaker will play. Here at GIN We carry a full line of 70 Volt Speakers that already have a transformer mounted to them. As stated, Conversely, you can also buy transformers and connect them to regular 8 ohm speakers to make them 70v. The transformers that are used are step-down transformers that convert the high-voltage/low-current coming from the power amplifier to the low-voltage/high-current signal that makes the system work. Each transformer usually has multiple wattage taps so that each unit can be individually set as to how much wattage will enter, because of this, how loud each location will be.

With a set up as such, one does not have to worry about keeping the impedance matched throughout their music system as they would on an 8 ohm based system. Impedance is a measure of resistance and in a 8 ohm system, and if the resistance reaches dangerous levels it could potentially destroy the amplifier. However, you can wire these in parallel because of the transformers spoke of earlier, which again regulates the wattage. To calculate the wattage of the power amp needed to run your system, simply take the total wattage of all the taps and include a 20% buffer, just to be safe.

We began selling over the internet in the year 2000. In the huge world of the internet, a little unknown company like GIN Electronics is easily lost. Hence, we treat our customers with great respect and give them great customer service and thus we have been getting many customers by word of mouth from our satisfied customers. We also, for customer security, have implemented Paypal as a means of payment. Paypal is probably the safest and most trusted means of payment on the internet.

The long-term goal for GIN Electronics is of course to stay in business and prepare for the future. However, a home with a good AudioVideo System is a harmonious home, and we plan on spreading the wealth of music and theater as long as we have customers that want to enjoy them as much as we do.

Here at GIN, we will point you in the correct direction and put together a system that fits your needs and budget. Once we have completed a win-win transaction, we can all relax and enjoy a dry martini. Good Day & Cheers!
