Speco Technologies 70 Volt Distribution Systems, or 70v distributed Audio, is
a perfect manner in which to distribute music or voice audio to multiple locations
without having to worry about the impedance, or resistance, issues one has when
dealing with 8 Ohm systems. Hence, Speco Technologies 70 Volt Distribution Systems
can send distributed audio to loudspeakers, or horns, to many, dozens, of locations
without having to deal with overload and hence possible fire trouble, which
makes them perfect for Commercial Audio and PA/Public Address applications.
To begin with, a Speco Technologies 70v System is
comprised of amplifiers, speakers (with in line transformers), volume controls,
and a telephone system interface, depending on your phone company set up. These
Speco Technologies 70v systems begin with an Amplifier. GIN Caries a full line
of strait Commercial Audio Power Amplifiers with features such as volume controls,
bass and treble controls, etc., that are built into the amp to make it a one
stop solution. Most commercial amplifiers have speaker outputs for 4/8/16 ohms,
25 & 70 Volts.
With Commercial Audio as such, one does not have to worry about keeping the impedance matched throughout their audio system as they would on an 8 ohm based system. Impedance is a measure of resistance and in a 8 ohm system if you hook up too many speakers to one amp the impedance will change to dangerous levels and potentially destroy the amplifier. However, here you wire the speakers in parallel with transformers, which regulate the wattage going into each of the speakers. To calculate the wattage of the amp needed to run your system, simply take the total wattage of all the taps on your speakers and include a 20% buffer, just to be safe. Moreover, all the taps do not need to be set at the same wattage, hence, you can thereby set the volume for different speakers when the amp is at one constant volume.
