RG59 Coax, or coaxial, is the copper cable used between the community antenna and user homes and businesses. Coaxial Cable, the two most popular forms being RG6 and RG 59, was invented in 1929 and first used commercially in 1941. RG59 Coax is primarily a TV & Video Cable that Usually outfitted with F Connectors; either compression fitted or screw on. RG 59 Video Cable is sold in CL3 In Wall, UL Listed, and Plenum rated models; and in patch lengths, small job connecting lengths and in bulk spools. It is often used for CCTV ( Closed Circuit Televsion ) Security Projects.

RG59 & RG6 Video Cable is called "coax" because it includes one physical channel that carries the signal surrounded (after a layer of insulation) by another concentric physical channel, both running along the same axis. The outer channel of serves as a ground. Many pairs of coaxial tubes can be placed in a single outer sheathing and, with repeaters, can carry information for a great distance. As stated, RG 59 Coaxial is predominantly used as Video Cable for TV, HDTV, Home Theater and CCTV, where RG 6 is mostly used for Satellite and other home and commercial applications.
