Intercom Systems are great for both the Residential ( home ) and Commercial applications. They come in both wired and wireless versions. The wired versions we carry are Nutone & M&S Systems, the wireless are from Westinghouse, Reporter & Oracle. Whole House or Home intercom systems often include attributes you would not find in a business or commercial one, as a music system and a Front Doorbell Station.
Both M&S Systems and Nutone make Residential Music Intercom Systems. The music begins at the home master station with either AM/FM, CD or Auxiliary, depending on the model, and it it runs to any number of rooms in your house, as well as door stations. These stations not only play the music, but communicate with all the other stations in your household, including the master. The doorbell stations have ring tones, and one can even implement a gate access device.
Another small type of residential intercom system is the video door phone. These work as a front door video monitor for you home. Someone rings the doorbell and the indoor monitor displays a video image of who is at your house, then you can communicate with that person before opening the door.
These Hard wired residential models require a little more labor and are obviously more time consuming than the wireless, but what they lack in ease they make up for in versatility and reliability. Moreover, do not be intimidated, wiring them is actually quite simple and the average do-it-yourselfer would have no problem completing the job in short order. A video door phone can be as simple as a 2 wire system, where a complex Music/Voice system usually 6 at the most, often 3 or 4 wire. Wireless, a snap- plug and play operation with flexibility as gate access and front door integration.
