Bi Wire Speaker Cable

Speaker Wire / Cable

Ultralink  Monster Cable  Phoenix Gold  Acoustic Research Terk  Belkin & Much More. . .

A great home stereo system begins with Speaker Wire! This brings us to specialty wiring and BI-Wire Speaker Cable. Some speakers are made with gold straps that connect two pairs of binding posts, 2 for the woofers and 2 for the midrange tweeters. If one removes that connection you can connect woofers and midrange/tweeters separately with BI-Wire Speaker Cable, which some think will produce a better audio signal. I have also, on longer runs, heard of people merely using a bulk 4 conductor cable for this purpose. The belief in the signal qualities stems from the thinking that the woofers need more current than the midrange and tweeters and thus wiring them separately would allow the woofer to draw the extra current it needs, thus preventing intermodulation and thus distortion.

GIN Carries BI Wire Speaker Cable as large as 10 Gauge, which as we remember is larger than 12 awg, which is larger that 14 gauge etc. Moreover, the lengths are only 10' to 20', which is very short, especially for a 10 awg cable. As we have stated before, home audio stereo systems is a land of overkill.

Will it sound any different if you connect your woofers and mid range/tweeters separately? This is very subjective and if we gave our opinion here it would only be one of many on both sides of the story. Do your home work, listen in audio rooms, and make your decisions. Every ear is different, and if you merely think it sounds better, than it does!
